United Nations flights accused of providing radar cover for unidentified aircraft in Sanaa

An investigative report led by Yemeni academic Dr. Abdulqader Al-Kharrat alleges that United Nations flights have been used to provide radar camouflage for unidentified aircraft landing at Sanaa International Airport, which is under Houthi militia control.

The report, released by the ‘#WeWillNotBeSilent’ campaign, claims that on August 24, 2026, a UN aircraft (identified as UNO136H) acted as an ‘aviation decoy.’ According to digital tracking and field monitoring, the UN plane flew a non-standard route from Amman through Aden and across several Yemeni provinces toward Sanaa. While the UN plane circled the capital, an unidentified aircraft with no active ADS-B tracking data landed at Sanaa airport.

The investigation warns that these activities exploit humanitarian immunity to facilitate illicit movements, potentially including the smuggling of military experts, sensitive missile or drone technology, and illicit funds. The report recommends a temporary suspension of flights to Sanaa, mandatory continuous tracking for all UN aircraft, and rigorous inspections at Aden airport to prevent the misuse of humanitarian corridors.
