To prevent future paralysis, the UN official identified three critical areas for action: closing massive funding gaps to ensure global detection and containment capabilities, adopting a 'One Health' approach that integrates human, animal, and ecosystem health, and ensuring equity so that all nations have access to life-saving medical tools.
