United Nations warns of rising civilian casualties in Gaza and West Bank

The United Nations has expressed deep concern regarding the rising number of civilian deaths and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and the West Bank. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric reported that UNICEF confirmed the deaths of three children, aged between three and 13, in Gaza within a 24-hour period, with at least five others injured.

In Deir al-Balah, attacks have damaged two humanitarian worker residences and the Al-Aqsa Hospital complex. Additionally, approximately one million residents in Gaza who rely on the Israeli water network are facing water shortages for a second consecutive day. The UN also noted that a lack of engine oil, heavy machinery, and spare parts is hindering field humanitarian efforts and preparations for the upcoming rainy season.

In the West Bank, humanitarian officials reported the destruction of the Khirbet at-Taban community in the Masafer Yatta area of Hebron, leaving dozens of Palestinians homeless. The UN highlighted increasing pressures on Palestinian communities due to demolition orders and settler violence, while reiterating its call for a two-state solution.
