United Overseas Bank to scrap card replacement and debit annual fees
United Overseas Bank (UOB) has announced a significant overhaul of its card fee structure, effective October 1, 2026. The bank will eliminate replacement fees for lost or damaged cards across all tiers, including standard plastic cards and premium metal cards such as the UOB Visa Infinite Metal and UOB Lady’s Solitaire Metal.
Additionally, UOB is removing annual fees for its debit card products, including the UOB One, Lady’s, and FX+ Debit Cards. For UnionPay cardholders, the bank is scrapping both the annual fee and foreign currency (FCY) transaction fees. Under the new policy, foreign purchases made with the UOB UnionPay Card will convert directly at the UnionPay exchange rate without additional bank markups.
The changes follow previous updates to the bank’s cardmember agreement regarding explicit criteria for credit card annual fee waivers for various client segments.
