United Rentals Sees Stake Increase from Franklin Resources While Capital International Cuts Holding
Franklin Resources Inc. raised its United Rentals (NYSE:URI) position in the fourth quarter, buying 28,895 shares to hold 1,343,981 shares, representing about 2.13% of the construction‑equipment rental firm, valued at roughly $1.09 billion.
In contrast, Capital International Inc. trimmed its stake sharply, selling 22,885 shares and ending the quarter with 8,253 shares, a 73.5% reduction valued at about $6.68 million.
Both filings note that several other institutional investors adjusted their holdings during the period, with Woodline Partners, Sei Investments, the North Carolina State Treasurer, HUB Investment Partners and Diversify Advisory Services increasing their positions. Institutional investors now own approximately 96.3% of United Rentals’ shares.
United Rentals reported fourth‑quarter earnings of $9.71 per share on revenue of $3.99 billion, missed analyst expectations, and declared a quarterly dividend of $1.97 per share.
