United Robotics Group opens healthcare robotics training center in Germany

United Robotics Group (URG) has opened a new robotics training and development center in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Located in the former St. Josef Hospital, the 400-square-meter facility is a result of a partnership with KERN Katholische Einrichtungen Ruhrgebiet Nord GmbH.

The center features two specialized demonstration environments designed to simulate real-world clinical and care settings. One area replicates a clinical laboratory and hospital environment for testing logistics and clinical processes, while the other is a configurable space designed to mimic patient rooms and nursing environments. The goal is to prepare AI-powered robotics solutions for global deployment in healthcare and nursing facilities.

In a separate development within the German-speaking market, the B2B platform Robo-Guru has launched to connect companies with professional service robotics providers. The platform serves industries such as cleaning, hospitality, logistics, and healthcare by providing a centralized space to compare technical data and connect with manufacturers and specialized dealers.
