Edinburgh defeats Stormers in narrow URC victory

In the second round of the 2026/27 United Rugby Championship (URC), Edinburgh secured a narrow 17-13 victory over the Stormers at Hive Stadium. Despite tries from Hacjivah Dayimani and successful kicking by Yaqeen Ahmed, the Stormers were unable to overcome Edinburgh's defensive structure and a first-half deficit. The match was marked by windy conditions and disciplinary issues, including yellow cards for Seabelo Senatla and Freddy Douglas.

In other URC action, the Hollywoodbets Sharks defeated Leinster in Durban. The Sharks' victory comes as they prepare for a challenging season, bolstered by the return of several Springboks. Meanwhile, the tournament continues with upcoming fixtures including Munster hosting the Vodacom Bulls and Leinster scheduled to face the Stormers in Cape Town.
