United States allocates USD 3.7 million to strengthen Paraguayan military capabilities

The United States has allocated approximately USD 3.7 million to strengthen the capabilities of the Paraguayan Armed Forces. This funding is intended to improve infrastructure, training, and regional cooperation.

The investment coincides with the Fuerzas Comando exercise, a Southcom initiative developed through the Special Operations South Command (Socsouth) in partnership with Paraguay. The competition involves specialized military and security personnel from 17 countries, focusing on technical and tactical testing for special operations.

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña attended the exercises at the Army Infantry School in Vista Alegre to observe the participants and reaffirm the government's commitment to national defense. The event also included high-ranking officials such as the Minister of National Defense and representatives from the U.S. Embassy.
