United States and El Salvador deepen security and investment partnership

U.S. Embassy Business Officer Naomi Fellows said the bilateral relationship with El Salvador is “very positive,” emphasizing cooperation on security, migration, crime‑fighting, and regional terrorism. She highlighted ongoing efforts to attract U.S. investment, expand infrastructure projects such as roads and ports, and strengthen supply‑chain links, noting the strategic location of El Salvador for trade with the United States.

During a reception marking the United States’ 250th anniversary of independence, Fellows reiterated that the partnership rests on shared democratic values and the long‑standing CAFTA‑DR trade agreement, which has boosted commerce for nearly fifteen years. The event underscored the intent to grow economic ties and create new job opportunities in both countries.
