United States and Namibia advance strategic energy and mineral partnership
A senior United States delegation met with Namibia’s Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Modestus Amutse, to advance a strategic economic partnership. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in energy infrastructure, critical mineral supply chains, and high-value industrial investments. The U.S. delegation, led by Ambassador John Giordano, included Deputy Under Secretary of Energy Mike Kopp and Sonja Horgen of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
In the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago is pursuing separate bilateral and industrial engagements. Minister of Energy Roodal Moonilal met with executives from Touchstone Exploration (Trinidad) Limited to discuss increasing oil and gas production in the Central Block and Cascadura field.
Additionally, Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Sean Sobers, held bilateral talks with Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith. The meeting addressed trade, investment, immigration, and regional security, noting a trade volume of TT$1.6 billion between the two nations.
