United States Commits $2 Billion to Faith‑Based Global Health and Humanitarian Aid

The U.S. government announced a nearly $2 billion package of health and humanitarian assistance for faith‑based and community organizations operating abroad. About $1.4 billion will fund integrated health services through hospitals, clinics and community hubs in more than 20 countries, while $538 million is earmarked for disaster response and other humanitarian work.

Key partners include World Vision, Compassion International and Samaritan’s Purse. The funding aims to strengthen over 2,500 faith‑based health facilities across 17 nations, train and equip roughly 30,000 community health workers, and reach an estimated 7 million people affected by 16 crises. The initiative is part of the America First Global Health Strategy and represents the largest allocation of global‑health foreign assistance to faith‑based groups in over two decades.
