United States acknowledges deployment of orbital space weapons

The United States has officially acknowledged for the first time that it possesses orbital space control weapons. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink confirmed the deployment of these assets during the Air, Space and Cyber Conference, stating they are intended to defend American forces against hostile actions in space.

This disclosure occurs amid an intensifying space arms race involving China and Russia. US officials are reportedly monitoring China's development of nuclear-capable partial-orbit hypersonic missiles. Additionally, US intelligence has suggested that Russia may be developing space-based nuclear weapons capable of disrupting critical satellite networks used for navigation, banking, and emergency services.

In response to the announcement, China's Foreign Ministry urged the United States to cease the expansion of its military presence and preparations for conflict in outer space.
