Trump discusses military options for Iran with CENTCOM commander

Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), met with President Donald Trump at the White House to present military options regarding Iran. The meeting included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Kane.

Reports indicate that the U.S. has briefed several Gulf allies to prepare for a potentially short and intensive military campaign following the November 3 midterm elections. While Trump has stated the U.S. will not launch strikes before the elections to avoid impacting fuel prices and political stability, he has not ruled out future operations against Iranian nuclear and petrochemical infrastructure.

Simultaneously, diplomatic efforts are underway. A Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran to facilitate peace negotiations, following a letter from Vice President JD Vance regarding medical supplies and potential dialogue. However, some Iranian officials have reportedly rejected peace proposals, and the U.S. continues to demand guarantees that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons.
