United States delays $14 billion Taiwan arms deal

This hesitation has caused concern in Taiwan; a United Daily News poll indicates that 47% of respondents doubt continued U.S. military support, while 44% remain confident. Meanwhile, the political situation in Taiwan shows a growing preference for independence, rising to 32% from 25% a year ago.
