United States dominates global wealth and billionaire rankings

Recent global wealth data highlights the dominance of the United States in both individual and national wealth metrics. According to updated wealth indices, the world’s ten richest individuals are all U.S. citizens, largely driven by the growth of the technology and artificial intelligence sectors. Elon Musk leads the list with an estimated net worth of approximately $925 billion, followed by Alphabet co-founders Larry Page ($295 billion) and Sergey Brin ($274 billion), Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($275 billion), and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg ($265 billion).

On a national level, the Allianz 2026 Global Wealth Report, which examines net financial assets per capita after subtracting debts, identifies the United States as the wealthiest country. Switzerland follows in second place. The report notes that global household financial assets reached a record 268.4 trillion euros in 2025, representing an 8.6 percent increase. The ranking focuses on financial assets such as deposits, securities, insurance, and retirement assets, excluding real estate.
