United States launches offensive against ‘extreme left-wing political terrorism’
The United States administration has initiated a strategic shift in foreign policy and national security doctrine by classifying certain political expressions as ‘extreme left-wing political terrorism’. This policy, guided by Presidential Memorandum on National Security No. 7 (NSPM-7) signed in September 2025, directs intelligence and law enforcement agencies to investigate, defund, and dismantle networks categorized under this designation.
On July 16, a ministerial meeting was held at the State Department, chaired by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to address the issue of political terrorism. Delegations from 66 countries, including Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Israel, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and others, participated in the forum. The administration’s move follows the killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk in September, which served as a catalyst for the redefinition of security priorities regarding political violence.
