United States LNG Exports Surge as DOE Highlights Record Growth

The U.S. Department of Energy reported a sharp increase in liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, positioning the United States as a leading global supplier. Under the current administration’s energy strategy, the DOE projects export volumes to double by 2031, adding roughly $1.4 trillion to the national GDP and creating about 550,000 additional jobs by 2040. Domestic gas prices remain among the world’s lowest, while the Energy Information Administration forecasts continued expansion of the sector.

The agency cited a voluntary lease withdrawal from Golden State Wind and the reinvestment of an estimated $120 million into Gulf Coast LNG projects as part of the broader push to boost fossil‑fuel infrastructure.
