United States offers rewards for ISIS-K leaders

The United States government has announced significant rewards through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program for information leading to the capture or identification of top ISIS-K leaders.

A reward of up to $8 million is being offered for Sanaullah Ghafari, also known as Shahab al-Muhajir. Ghafari, born in Afghanistan in 1994, has led the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) since June 2020. He is described as a military leader responsible for approving operations across Afghanistan and overseeing the group’s financial resources. He has been linked to the planning of suicide bombings and complex armed attacks in Kabul.

Additionally, the U.S. is offering up to $10 million for information regarding Obaidullah, a senior ISIS-K commander and the group’s financial chief. Obaidullah is identified as a key figure in directing operational units and managing the group's finances through the Al Siddiq office, which supervises activities in Asia.
