The United States is preparing to issue a formal warning to dozens of countries regarding the global artificial intelligence race. According to an internal State Department draft letter reviewed by Reuters, Washington intends to inform 35 signatories of the 'AI Opportunity Statement' that they may face exclusion from US-led initiatives if they simultaneously join competing frameworks backed by Beijing.

The US initiative, known as Pax Silica, focuses on securing supply chains for semiconductors, critical minerals, and AI models. The draft letter emphasizes that participation in such coalitions is a commitment rather than a mere subscription, stating, 'To be part of everything is to be part of nothing.'

Kazakhstan has emerged as a key point of concern for Washington, as it is currently the only nation known to have joined both the Pax Silica initiative and China's World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO). China's framework, launched by President Xi Jinping in July, promotes open-weight AI technology as an alternative to US influence.

While the US State Department has declined to comment on the purportedly leaked documents, the move signals an intensifying effort to prevent China from accessing resources vital for advanced AI development. Beijing has expressed opposition to the politicization of trade and technology, warning that such actions could stifle global progress.
