US Department of Homeland Security lists 124 Nigerians for deportation

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published on its website the names and photographs of 124 Nigerian nationals slated for removal under the administration’s intensified immigration enforcement program. The individuals were described as part of a “worst‑of‑the‑worst” criminal register of non‑citizens arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The list includes dozens of names such as Sunday Adediora, Mkpouto Etukudoh, Marcus Unigwe, Olaniyi Ojikutu, Boluwaji Akingunsoye and many others, but DHS did not disclose the specific offenses, the timing of deportations, or the legal status of each person. The release follows a series of executive orders signed by President Donald Trump after his return to office on 20 January 2025, which direct federal agencies to prioritize the arrest and removal of migrants deemed threats to public safety and national security.

U.S. officials said the action fulfills the president’s promise of “mass deportations” and is intended to strengthen immigration enforcement. No official response from the Nigerian government has been reported, while members of the Nigerian diaspora have expressed anxiety over the pending removals.
