President Paz declared a 90‑day state of exception on 20 June 2026 to reopen roads, and the United States pledged additional logistical aid and equipment for the Bolivian police. The U.S. Embassy posted a message on X stating the unrest posed a “grave threat to the hemisphere” and affirmed support for the constitutionally elected government, a stance shared by 14 other nations.
