United States spends $69.2 billion on nuclear weapons
A report from the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) reveals that the United States is spending $69.2 billion on nuclear weapons. This figure exceeds the combined nuclear spending of all other nuclear-armed nations, including Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France, India, Pakistan, North Korea, and Israel.
Globally, total spending on nuclear weapons has reached $119 billion. The United States is currently undergoing a process of replacing and modernizing its nuclear triad, which includes the Minuteman III missiles, B-52 bombers, and Ohio-class submarines. While other nations like China and Russia are also increasing their nuclear budgets, the U.S. expenditure remains significantly higher.
