Global economic shifts impact food costs and social assistance

Various regions are reporting significant shifts in economic stability, healthcare costs, and social assistance.

In the United States, the USDA will implement annual cost-of-living adjustments for SNAP benefits starting October 1, 2026, to mitigate inflation. Additionally, the White House announced that approximately one million Obamacare enrollees in at least 30 states may receive reimbursements of up to $500 to offset high healthcare costs.

In Argentina, economic data highlights rising costs for essential needs. The INDEC reported that child-rearing costs increased between 2.1% and 2.4% in August.
