United Utilities receives £975 million investment headroom approval from Ofwat

The UK water regulator Ofwat has granted United Utilities preliminary approval for an additional £975 million in investment headroom under the AMP8 regulatory framework. This decision provides the water utility with greater financial predictability for its planned projects, allowing it to secure approximately £2.5 billion in total investments through annual adjustment mechanisms.

United Utilities is targeting total investments of roughly £11.5 billion during the AMP8 period, with a strategic goal to increase its Regulatory Capital Value to approximately £25 billion by 2030. The company is also progressing with a £140 million infrastructure upgrade program designed to modernize water and wastewater networks.

Following these regulatory developments, United Utilities Group PLC shares saw positive movement, breaking above their 200-day moving average to close at 1,409 pence. The stock has demonstrated a mid-term upward trend, rising approximately 18.5 percent from a previous level of 1,193 pence.
