United Way of Morgan County Day of Action mobilizes 120 volunteers

More than 120 volunteers participated in the United Way of Morgan County’s Day of Action, an event designed to connect community members with local nonprofits in need of assistance. The initiative, formerly known as the Day of Caring, serves as the largest single-day volunteer project in Morgan County.

Volunteers performed various tasks for several organizations, including painting a foster home for FACES in Danville, remodeling a bathroom for adults with special needs in Hartselle, and spreading mulch at the Hospice of the Valley’s Bereavement Garden. Other activities included replacing ceiling tiles at PACT, painting a Habitat for Humanity building, and power-washing the parking area at the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center by a team from Daikin America.

In addition to physical labor, the event included drives to collect hygiene items for the United Way, as well as baby supplies and gift cards for Crisis Services of North Alabama. The Day of Action also serves to kick off a three-month campaign for the organization.
