Unitree showcases H2-X humanoid robot in security and rescue demonstration
Unitree has released a promotional video for its H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian, a humanoid robot designed for personal security and rescue scenarios. The demonstration features the robot performing martial arts-style movements, acrobatics, and strength-based stunts, including lifting the front of a vehicle.
In simulated rescue scenes, the robot is shown protecting an individual from a person with a knife and pushing a mannequin out of the path of an approaching car. While the video highlights physical capabilities and an estimated 8-hour battery life, the demonstrations are choreographed and staged. The material does not provide evidence of independent threat detection or the ability to operate safely in unplanned, real-world security situations.
The H2-X appears to be a derivative of the H2 model, which stands 1.82 meters tall and weighs 70 kg. Unitree has not yet confirmed a specific release date or price for the H2-X, though its predecessor is marketed starting at approximately $29,900.
