UNITY and CIRCULARMED partner to reduce hospital waste costs
Management consultancy UNITY has entered into a strategic partnership with CIRCULARMED to reduce waste disposal costs in hospitals through circular economy principles.
CIRCULARMED provides a specialized software platform designed to digitally record, standardize, and manage waste processes. By implementing these digital and organizational optimizations, the partnership aims to improve efficiency and help healthcare facilities meet sustainability reporting requirements, such as the CSRD.
In a case study of a 500-bed hospital, the collaboration demonstrated significant potential for cost savings. This includes a 10 percent reduction in annual disposal costs, a 35 percent reduction in staff workload related to waste handling, and a 15 percent increase in overall process efficiency. Total estimated annual savings for such a facility amount to approximately 66,500 euros.
