UNITY and REDCOM partner to provide AI solutions for hospital medical controlling

UNITY and REDCOM have entered into a strategic partnership to provide AI-supported solutions for medical controlling in hospitals. The collaboration aims to help healthcare facilities manage increasing workloads caused by rising medical service (MD) audit rates, minimize revenue risks, and secure liquidity.

This initiative responds to the GKV Contribution Rate Stabilization Act, which is expected to significantly increase MD audit rates for 85% of hospitals starting in 2027. In many cases, these rates are projected to quadruple or even increase eightfold, creating a risk of millions of euros in annual revenue losses per clinic.

To address these challenges without increasing personnel—which is difficult due to labor shortages—the partners are developing AI tools to create faster and more precise processes. They have launched an online tool, md-impact.de, which allows hospitals to calculate potential audit rates and revenue losses in advance.
