Unity party board resigns following Saeima election results

The board of the Unity party is resigning following the results of the Saeima elections. Evika Siliņa, chair of the New Unity party association and a member of the Unity board, announced the decision on social media. She described the election outcome as a ‘yellow card’ for the party, necessitating a critical evaluation of previous decisions and public communication.

Until the next congress, scheduled for November 28, the party will focus on gathering input from youth and new members to identify necessary changes. Siliņa emphasized the need for more direct and understandable dialogue with voters to better understand public expectations.

The 15th Saeima elections saw the United List emerge as the winner with 41 mandates. Other results included Latvia First Place with 17 seats, Suverēnā vara/Apvienība jaunlatvieši with 15, National Alliance and Progressives with 10 seats each, and New Unity with seven mandates.
