Universal+ announces August 2026 premieres featuring Conde de Montecristo, Murder in a Small Town and fashion reality

Universal+ has released its August 2026 programming slate. The highlight is an eight‑episode miniseries adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s classic novel *The Count of Monte Cristo*, directed by Danish filmmaker Bille August and starring Sam Claflin as Edmond Dantès with Jeremy Irons as Abbé Faria.

The platform also adds the crime series *Murder in a Small Town*, based on L. R. Wright’s novels, following detective Karl Alberg as he investigates murders in a coastal community. A third season of the Brazilian fashion reality show *Descosturando com Herchcovitch* returns, led by designer Alexandre Herchcovitch and featuring his mother Regina, presenters Karol Conká and Márcia Pantera, and a rotating roster of celebrities and anonymous participants.

Additional entries include the documentary *ELIS & EU*, which explores the life of singer Elis Regina through the perspective of her son João Marcello Bôscoli, the travel‑mystery reality series *Destination XO*, and the legal drama *The Rainmaker* inspired by John Grisham’s novel. The lineup targets fans of drama, suspense, fashion and documentary storytelling.
