Universal Civil Service initiatives launched in Italy

Various regional initiatives in Italy are utilizing the Universal Civil Service to engage young people in social, educational, and agricultural projects.

In the provinces of Como and Lecco, the Opera Don Guanella has opened applications for the ‘Multifunctional Proximity Agriculture 2’ project. This initiative aims to connect the agri-food supply chain with social-educational services, offering volunteers training in social agriculture to enhance their future employability and promote environmental sustainability. Applications must be submitted online by November 6, 2026.

In Andora, four volunteers have officially begun a year-long service to support municipal services. These volunteers will assist with local nurseries, the civic library, elderly centers, and after-school programs. The program involves a 25-hour weekly commitment with a monthly stipend established by national regulations.
