Universal Merchant Bank and 3TREES launch Ghana paint discount scheme

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), 3TREES Ghana, and Strawberry Star have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch the ‘Brighten Ghana Initiative’. This paint discount scheme is designed to support building maintenance and painting projects in preparation for Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary in March 2027.

The program will offer discounts between 35% and 55% on selected exterior all-weather paints. Scheduled to run from October 1, 2026, to March 30, 2027, the initiative targets individuals, businesses, schools, and community organizations.

A key component of the plan involves establishing sales outlets across various constituencies to improve product accessibility and support local trade. Members of Parliament are expected to assist with local mobilization and the establishment of these outlets. UMB will serve as the official banking and settlement partner, developing a digital payment platform to facilitate transactions for the participating products.
