Universal opens Harry Potter Ministry of Magic area at Epic Universe

Universal has opened ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic’ at Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida. The new themed area transports visitors between two distinct eras of the wizarding world: 1920s Paris, inspired by ‘Fantastic Beasts’, and the 1990s British Ministry of Magic from the original Harry Potter saga.

A central attraction, ‘Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry’, utilizes motion and special effects to place guests inside an elevator journey through various Ministry departments. The narrative follows Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they attempt to stop Dolores Umbridge during her trial. The transition between the two settings is facilitated by the ‘Métro-Floo’, a space featuring over 80,000 tiles.

In total, the Ministry of Magic areas incorporate more than 125,000 multi-colored tiles. Other features include the ‘Le Cirque Arcanus’ show, which combines live performers and puppets, and interactive wands with new spells. The area also offers themed dining, including Café L’air De La Sirène, Le Gobelet Noir, and Bar Moonshine.
