Universal Orlando delays reopening of Jurassic Park River Adventure

Universal Orlando Resort has announced a delay in the reopening of the Jurassic Park River Adventure attraction at Islands of Adventure. The ride, which has been a staple of the park since 1999, closed on January 5, 2026, for extensive refurbishment.

Originally, the attraction was scheduled to welcome guests back on November 19, 2026. However, the resort’s official operating calendar now indicates that the reopening has been pushed back to December 16, 2026.

The Jurassic Park River Adventure features animatronic dinosaurs and a signature 85-foot water plunge. The delayed reopening date falls during the winter season, a period when local temperatures in Orlando can be too low for optimal water-based attractions.
