Florida theme parks report security incidents and safety concerns

Multiple security and safety incidents have been reported at major Florida theme parks. At Universal Orlando Resort, a heavy law enforcement presence was deployed following a reported altercation near the parking garages. The Orlando Police Department stated that guests were held in certain areas, such as Universal CityWalk and the transportation hub, “out of an abundance of caution” while officers addressed the situation.

Additionally, a safety incident occurred at Universal’s Epic Universe on October 18, 2026, when a ceiling fan fell within the queue for the Stardust Racers roller coaster. The incident caused an evacuation of the attraction, which remained closed for the rest of the day. While some reports suggest the equipment narrowly missed guests, others claim a guest may have been struck.

At Walt Disney World Resort, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a battery report at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on October 19. Furthermore, a burglary was reported in the EPCOT Resort Area on the morning of October 20. Officials have not yet released specific details regarding the identities of those involved or the extent of any injuries in these incidents.
