Universal Orlando Resort announces attraction closure and policy changes

Universal Orlando Resort is undergoing several operational and structural changes. The long-running entertainment show ‘Animal Actors on Location!’ is scheduled to close permanently on November 3, 2026, marking the end of a performance tradition that has existed at Universal Studios Florida since 1990.

In terms of guest services, the resort is facing scrutiny regarding its treatment of plus-size visitors. While Universal provides test seats to help guests determine if they can safely use certain attractions, reports suggest the company may no longer offer the complimentary Express passes that were previously provided to guests who were unable to board rides after waiting in long queues due to restrictive seating.

Additionally, Universal is offering significant discounts to specific groups. Certain passholders can access up to a 70% discount on select offerings. Annual Passholders also continue to receive various benefits, such as Premier Passholders receiving Universal Express access after 4 p.m. at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
