Snoop Dogg biopic ‘Snoop’ expands cast with Camron Jones and Algee Smith

Universal Pictures has expanded the cast for its upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic, titled ‘Snoop’. The film, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 6, 2027, will follow the rapper’s rise from Long Beach, California, to global stardom.

Jonathan Daviss has been cast in the titular role of Snoop Dogg. The ensemble cast includes Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, and Algee Smith as Warren G. Lauren London will portray Snoop’s late mother, Beverly Tate. Other casting additions include Laya DeLeon Hayes as Shante Broadus, Olly Sholotan as Kurupt, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg, Jonica Booth as The Lady of Rage, and Tre Hale as Suge Knight.

Directed by Craig Brewer, the project is produced by Snoop Dogg, Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment, and Sara Ramaker of Death Row Pictures. The film marks the first production under the overall deal between Death Row Pictures and NBCUniversal Entertainment. Production is expected to begin in mid-September around Los Angeles.
