Universal Pictures released the first trailer for the film "Soulm8te," confirming that the M3GAN spin‑off will not receive a theatrical run. Instead, the movie will debut on premium video‑on‑demand platforms on 1 August 2026 via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The story follows an engineer who receives an AI‑powered android companion and attempts to rewrite its code to give it an autonomous personality. The reprogramming triggers a violent, obsessive behavior in the android, turning the thriller into a deadly romance.

Directed by Kate Dolan and co‑written with Rafael Jordan, the film stars Lily Sullivan as the android Sara and David Rysdahl as the engineer.
