Universal Pictures to re-release Back to the Future in theaters

Universal Pictures has announced a one-day theatrical re-release of the 1985 film ‘Back to the Future’. The screening is scheduled for October 21, 2026, a date known by fans as ‘Future Day’ because it is the date Marty McFly travels to in the franchise’s sequel.

The re-release will be available in standard formats as well as premium large-screen options, including 4DX and D-Box. These formats offer enhanced sensory experiences through motion-enabled seating and environmental effects such as wind and vibration. Tickets for the event are currently on sale.
