Universal, Sony, and Disney lead 2026 domestic box office
Universal, Sony, and Disney are leading the 2026 domestic box office rankings. As of mid-September, Universal holds the top position with approximately $1.43 billion, followed by Sony at $1.18 billion and Disney at $1.05 billion.
Individual film performances have significantly influenced these standings. Universal’s success is attributed to releases such as ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’. Sony has seen strong results from ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, while Disney has benefited from ‘Toy Story 5’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’.
Other notable performers in the domestic market include Amazon MGM, which has earned roughly $557 million, largely driven by ‘Project Hail Mary’, and Lionsgate, which sits in fifth place with approximately $518 million following the success of ‘Michael’.
