Universal Studios Japan announces 2026 Halloween Horror Night details

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) has announced details for its 15th anniversary ‘Halloween Horror Night’ event, scheduled to run from September 11 to November 8, 2026. To celebrate the park's 25th anniversary, the event will feature a first-time collaboration with horror manga artist Junji Ito, specifically utilizing his iconic character ‘Tomie’ alongside the park's ‘Street Zombies.’

Special merchandise including T-shirts, notebooks, and cosmetic keychains featuring original artwork by Ito will be available. The event also introduces themed food items, such as the ‘Hamikuma Chocolate Sundae’ and various character-themed plates featuring Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and Minions.

As a precursor to the main event, USJ will host a special immersive experience titled ‘Shinjuku Zombie Confinement’ at the Shinjuku Southern Terrace on August 17 and 18, 2026. This pop-up event will simulate a research facility containing captured zombies, including the debut of a new ‘high school zombie’ character.
