Universidad Andrés Bello launches wellness and sustainability initiatives
Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB) has introduced two new institutional initiatives focused on physical activity and environmental sustainability in Chile.
The university launched “UNAB en Movimiento,” an audiovisual series designed to promote physical activity and well-being among students and staff. The program features academics and students sharing practical advice on incorporating movement into daily routines, such as walking more or choosing stairs, to combat sedentary lifestyles.
Additionally, UNAB presented its Integral Waste Management Plan, which aims to increase the institution's recycling rate from 10% in 2025 to 40% by 2038. This goal is part of a broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2038. The plan was discussed in a forum involving experts from the private sector, municipal sustainability offices, and the Ministry of the Environment, addressing the challenges of managing the 1,076 tons of waste generated by university operations in 2025.
