Universidad Andrés Bello obstetrics program earns honor at international health education congress in Chile
The Obstetrics program of Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB) took part in the XII International Congress of Education in Health Sciences (CIECS 2026) held from 13‑15 July at Universidad Finis Terrae. The congress gathered academics, researchers and health professionals, and UNAB presented four academic works, receiving an Honorable Mention in Educational Research.
The event, organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Health of Universidad Finis Terrae with support from ASOFAMECH and the Network of Medical Education Units, focused on themes such as artificial intelligence, clinical simulation, educational research, pedagogical innovation and evidence‑based training. A highlight was the oral presentation by Sara Parada Ibáñez, director of the UNAB Obstetrics program in Santiago, titled “Progressive Clinical Narrative in e‑learning: integration of oncology and infertility in midwifery training,” showcasing a novel progressive clinical narrative model to strengthen clinical reasoning. Student intern Catalina Vargas also presented work derived from her 2025 thesis, underscoring the contribution of undergraduate research.
