The election process for the next rector of the Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro (UAAAN) in Saltillo, Mexico, faced a temporary suspension following internal disputes. Rector Alberto Flores Olivas, acting as president of the Electoral College, halted the procedure for the 2026-2030 term after 17 of the 22 members of the University Council expressed dissatisfaction with the selection of the three-person candidate shortlist.

University members, including faculty and students, raised concerns regarding a lack of transparency and insufficient information concerning the evaluation criteria used to determine the eligible candidates. The proposed shortlist included Rosalinda Mendoza, José Antonio González, and Guillermo Galván, while other aspirants were excluded.

In response, the University's Board of Directors (Consejo Directivo) ratified the shortlist and requested that the Electoral College resume the election stages. The Board argued that the request for more information regarding evaluation methodology did not constitute a legal basis to stop the process. They maintained that the selection was based on institutional projection, academic strength, and management capacity.
