Universidad Autónoma Chapingo launches beekeeping economic app

The Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (UACh) and the Secretaría de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural (AGRICULTURA) have officially delivered the ‘API-COSTOS CHAPINGO’ application to the Organización Nacional de Apicultores (ONA).

Designed to organize and analyze economic information within beekeeping production units, the app aims to support data-driven decision-making for producers. The development of the tool follows over 15 years of research by the CIESTAMM center regarding production cost estimation. The application was built by doctoral students from the IAUIA program at UACh using data obtained from studies with local producers.

Following the symbolic delivery ceremony, beekeeping producers and technicians from the State of Mexico participated in practical workshops to learn how to utilize the tool. The application is currently validated for beekeepers in the central zone, including the State of Mexico and Mexico City.
