Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas expands international presence in Houston

The Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (UNACH) has formalized a working alliance with the Consulate General of Mexico in Houston, Texas. This partnership aims to connect university expertise with the needs of Mexican and Mexican-American communities through specialized windows focused on education, ethics, health, and finance.

The collaboration seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge to strengthen local capacities in healthcare, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and community development. It also includes initiatives to protect the rights, languages, and knowledge of indigenous peoples, alongside efforts regarding digital transformation, sustainability, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

In addition to the consular agreement, UNACH representatives met with officials from the University of Houston's Law Faculty and Rice University. These meetings focused on exploring joint projects involving student and academic mobility, research stays, postgraduate training, and faculty exchange.
