Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez earns ISO 21001 certification
The Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) has achieved the ISO 21001 international certification for the first time. This standard establishes requirements for an Educational Organization Management System (EOMS), specifically designed to meet the needs and expectations of students and other stakeholders to improve the quality of university training.
The certification process, conducted by Certification With Added Value (CAV), lasted approximately five months. It included an internal audit, a documentary evaluation, and an on-site assessment conducted between August 17 and August 21, where evaluators visited academic and administrative areas to interview faculty, students, and staff.
According to Antonio de la Mora Covarrubias, Director General of Planning and Institutional Development, the university received the official accreditation on September 14. The certification is valid for three years and follows a reengineering of the institution's processes, which defined seven strategic areas including educational program management, student academic trajectories, and research and innovation.
