Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo advances institutional and academic initiatives

The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) is implementing several strategic initiatives focused on institutional modernization and academic discourse. The university recently conducted a workshop titled “Sensibilización e inicio de la gestión universitaria UASD 2026-2030” for its new academic authorities. Led by Rector Jorge Asjana David, the program aims to establish pillars for digital transformation, research, internationalization, and social responsibility to align the institution with the National Development Strategy.

In a separate academic effort, the UASD School of Philosophy inaugurated an international symposium titled “Filosofía de la ciencia, ética y futuro humano.” The three-day event brings together national and international scholars to discuss the intersection of science, ethics, and human progress. During the opening, Rector Asjana David highlighted the necessity of ethical reflection regarding rapid technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and automation, noting that scientific progress must be guided by ethical considerations to safeguard human dignity.
