Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo appoints new manager for Punta Cana campus and new public relations director

The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) designated Dr. Ángela Quezada Guerrero as the manager of its Punta Cana campus. The appointment was formalized in the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences council hall, with the university’s human‑resources director, Dr. Raquel Delgado Valdés, presenting the designation on behalf of Rector Dr. Jorge Asjana David. Quezada emphasized the strategic importance of the Punta Cana site for meeting the region’s growing population, economic activity and tourism, and pledged to strengthen academic programs and community engagement.

In a separate ceremony at the university museum, Raúl Hernández was sworn in as the new Director of Public Relations and International Affairs. Hernández, a communication scholar with multiple advanced degrees, succeeded Luis Pérez Novas. He pledged to maintain transparent, continuous communication with the media to highlight UASD’s academic, scientific and social initiatives across the Dominican Republic.
