Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo marks 488th anniversary

The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) is marking its 488th anniversary with institutional celebrations and environmental initiatives. As part of the anniversary, the university launched the “La Madre Tierra nos habla” (Mother Earth Speaks to Us) campaign. This initiative aims to promote ecological awareness and highlight the institution's commitment to sustainability through programs such as its Doctorate in Environment and Sustainability, scientific research on biodiversity, and coastal cleaning efforts.

Additionally, the UASD San Francisco de Macorís campus held a ceremony to honor retired faculty and administrative staff who completed more than 30 years of continuous service. Led by Director Rosa Francia Burgos, the event recognized several educators and staff members for their contributions to teaching, science, and university service.
